"I chose Cornell because of the welcoming atmosphere and sense of diverse community and collaboration exuded by the university and its leaders. Cornell is a place that allows for ideas to be heard and spread as the motto “any person…any study” holds true." Read more about Korie Grayson, Ph.D. 2020
Book celebrates 27 inspiring alumnae
Last fall, leaders of the Society of Women Engineers’ (SWE) student section at Cornell noticed that on that year’s Forbes “America’s Innovative Leaders” top 100 list there was only one woman. They knew there were many accomplished and worthy women leaders, including within the Cornell alumni community, and wanted to find a way to share their stories with the public.
The result is “Wall of Wonder: Cornell Women Leading the Way in Science, Technology and Engineering,” a book spotlighting 27 alumnae, available now on Amazon. The book seeks to increase the visibility of women leaders, showcase and celebrate the breadth of what they have accomplished in science and technology, and commemorate some of the alumnae who have inspired the book’s graduating co-authors.
All net proceeds support the Cornell Society of Women Engineers' K-12 outreach initiatives to advance STEM education and inspire future leaders.
