Nelly Andarawis-Puri appointed Associate Director for Graduate Programs in the Sibley School

Professor Nelly Andarawis-Puri has accepted the position of Associate Director of the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering for Graduate Programs. Andarawis-Puri’s three-year term will begin on July 1, 2020. Andarawis-Puri is the Clare Booth Luce Associate Professor in the Sibley School and Nancy and Peter Meinig Family Investigator in the Life Sciences. After joining the department in 2016 she has built up a strong research program in tendon biomechanics, repair, and regeneration. Cornell STEM group hosts hugely successful online outreach event

For 32 years the Cornell chapter of the national group called Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) has been hosting an on-campus event packed full of hands-on science activities for 7th through 9th grade girls. When the Cornell campus closed in March, the organizers had to change gears very quickly and create the 33rd annual EYH event as a strictly online happening. Alan Zehnder will become the new Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the College of Engineering

Alan Zehnder, Professor in the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, will succeed Mike Thompson as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the College of Engineering starting July 1st, 2020. "Professor Zehnder brings experience to the position, having previously served as associate dean for diversity and faculty development and director of MAE," said Lance Collins, Dean of the College of Engineering.
